The Egg Comes Before the Chicken on National Deviled Egg Day
Yes, one of the most esteemed appetizers, Deviled Eggs, has its own day. It might come as a surprise, but truly, those little guys deserve it. There’s something about deviled eggs that feels nostalgic, comforting, and celebratory all at once. They’re simple, elegant and they always start conversations.
This year, National Deviled Egg Day fell on the first Sunday of November, a day that already has its own special rhythm for our Social Exchange crew. If you know us, you know the 1st and 3rd Sundays are reserved for Gears & Grinds, that early-morning mix of caffeine, cars, and conversation.
On the third Sunday, that usually means brunch. A handful of us peel off from the parking lot still buzzing from the vibes by Choice Sound good company, and pick out a spot to refuel on something other than horsepower. But this month, the first Sunday came with a twist, and honestly, a very delicious one.
Chicken N Pickle Came Through in Style
Because it was National Deviled Egg Day, it only felt right to take our appetites somewhere that would appreciate the moment. Enter Chicken N Pickle, a place that feels like someone asked, “What if we built a playground for adults, kids, food lovers, sports lovers, and people who just want to say they did something fun today?”
Their facility is huge, gorgeous, bright, and buzzing with energy. Between the indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, the lawn games, the second-story dining area, and multiple private rooms, you could easily lose track of time or your friends. It has the vibe of a family-friendly hangout mixed with a social club that refuses to take itself too seriously.
The menu is just as welcoming: approachable, comfort-forward, and priced surprisingly well, considering how much space and entertainment surrounds you. It’s the kind of place where you can eat, play, linger, talk, and not feel rushed from one part of the experience to the next.
But the highlight, the very reason we were there, arrived on a plate nestled on a bed of fresh arugula.
The Deviled Eggs That Received the Spotlight
Chicken N Pickle served up some deviled eggs for our group to enjoy right when we arrived. With its creamy yolk filling, crisp bacon sprinkled on top, and the perfect little slice of jalapeño to remind your tastebuds that life should never be bland, they were gone almost as quickly as they hit the table.
We sat in one of their dining areas, watching Sunday football, decompressing from Gears & Grinds, and taking in the whole atmosphere: families playing outside, and a bingo brunch underway not too far from our tables. It felt like the perfect blend of community and Sunday ease.
Of course, deviled-egg lovers don’t have to wait for a national holiday to get their fix. Las Vegas has some incredible spots serving up their own spins on this little classic. Each place adds its own personality, which is part of what makes deviled eggs such a fun little world to explore. Here are a few great spots where you can keep the celebration going year-round:
Lazy Dog | Classic, creamy, generously portioned, with two Las Vegas locations in Summerlin and Town Square
The Crack Shack | A little tang, a little attitude located right outside of Park MGM on the Strip
Yardbird | Southern charm with upscale flair found inside The Venetian
Mon Ami Gabi | Parisian-style elegance on a plate at Paris Hotel
Other Mama | Fresh, flavorful, and unexpected off Durango and Desert Inn
Mama Bird | A homestyle version with heart in the Southwest near Rainbow & Warm Springs
Carson Kitchen | A creative twist in a cozy setting in downtown Las vegas
A Sunday Worth Cracking Open Again
This National Deviled Egg Day reminds us that even simple traditions can become memorable when shared with good people and good food. Gears & Grinds gave us the spark, Chicken N Pickle gave us the flavor, and the Social Exchange community gave the day its warmth.
